Odds are, no one visiting this site ever visited the past versions of my website. However, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything and this post is as much to test out the new layout and settings as it is to update anyone on why everything looks different. If you have visited in the past, you may notice featured images for past blog posts are missing. Unfortunately, I lost some design elements when I switched hosting provider.
My wife is a web designer, but do not blame her for this. She’s got a fulltime job and I can’t afford someone as good as her to write the code for a new site, so I did it myself. I’m not a web designer so do not look for that in my resume or consider me for your website building needs.
I also want to make sure everyone knows, I’m not really looking for work. This site is part portfolio and part landing site for those who ask me to take on freelance projects. I love teaching and while my work in public education keeps me busy during business hours, there are times that I miss really stretching those interview skills.
One of my favorite consulting experiences was providing a crisis-interview scenario for a class of future nonprofit leaders. Many of the students may have a less fond memory of the evening, but I should note their professor said I should be tough on them. I loved being able to really give students a taste of how to be prepared for how their words should be chosen carefully and as leaders they need to take responsibility when bad things happen.
