This special series of reports was shot and edited by Phil Cross. The interviews were conducted in offices, labs and dig sites from Tulsa to the furthest reaches of the Oklahoma panhandle.
When Honor Flights returned to Oklahoma they were sponsored by Oklahoma City television station KOKH. The station sent Phil Cross along for the journey.
With the exception of archival footage, the b-roll from this journey was shot by Phil. He also edited this series of stories together and after they finished airing on television, viewers had donated enough money to fund another Honor Flight.
When Phil uncovered a growing problem of illegal and unlicensed party buses he knew he had a good story.
Despite finding official documentation and matching the private records with public records, Phil’s boss wouldn’t let him identify any of the companies the state said were operating illegally.
So, Phil got creative. He knew he had a good story, but had to tell it without using any video of the main subject of the story.
